Bayahibe is a small typical fishing village located 15 kilometers away from La Romana International airport, on the southeastern coast of the Dominican Republic. It is one and a half hour away from the capital city Santo Domingo, one hour from Punta Cana and its international airport and only twenty minutes from Altos de Chavón and Casa de Campo. Bayahibe is the perfect destination for fishing and diving enthusiasts and for those looking for white sand beaches with crystal-clear waters. Bayahibe is the starting point of the excursions to the famous islands of Saona and Catalina, the gems of the National Park of the East.

The village of Bayahibe was recently renovated and boasts a pedestrian zone with multi-colored waterfront restaurants. While staying in Bayahibe you can find numerous services: supermarket, drugstore, banks, gift shops, local handicraft shops and diving centers with certified instructors speaking many languages.

From Bayahibe village you can hike on a green trail to discover the dry tropical forest of the area, spot many species of birds and butterflies and explore freshwater caves.

Playa Dominicus was first developed 25 years ago when Italian investors built the first all-inclusive resort on the beach, the Dominicus Hotel. Since then, many investors have come to the area and created the large tourist infrastructure known today as Bayahibe-Dominicus.
