Ecoturism in Dominican Republic

Dominican Republic has 83 National Parks, Scientific Reserves, Natural Areas and Natural Monuments. The climatic variations-natural eco-systems from the Rain Tropical Forest to Arid and Desert Plains and Cloud Forest mountains - and wide range of endangered flora and fauna species make the Dominican Republic an ideal ecotourism gateaway.

The island has different eco-trails and accommodations nearby or within the forest reserves. The sites with largest concentration of ecotours are the Barahona/Pedernales and Constanza/Jarabacoa.
