The Laguna de Oviedo (Oviedo Lagoon) is a saltwater lake located in the Jaragua national Park, in the Pedernales Province. It is a remarkable place for the diversity of its wildlife and plants. Don’t miss the flamingos, iguanas, and many species of migratory and endemic birds. The Laguna also possesses 24 islets that have unique characteristics. During our tour we stop for lunch on Iguanas Island.

After lunch we will walk through the typical arid vegetation of the island to reach a viewpoint with a panoramic view of the Laguna and the Caribbean Sea on one side and the mountains of the Sierra Bahoruco on the other side. Then we will walk through the dry forests and the mangrove to reach a spot where a river meets the lagoon and where many birds come to drink and refresh.

• 08:30 am: visit of the Tainos Cave of Los Patos natural pools.
• 10:00 am: Motorboat ride on Laguna de Oviedo
• Walk between Laguna and the sea to the beach of Cabo San Luis.
• 01:00 pm: lunch on Iguana Island.
• Walk and access to viewpoint.
• 04:00 pm: Motorboat ride back to Oviedo.
• 06:00 pm: Return to your hotel
