El Salto del Limón is an impressive 150 feet high waterfall hidden in the lush tropical forest of the Samanà Peninsula. You can reach the waterfall riding a mule or donkey that the inhabitants of the small El Limón village have ready for you. First, we cross the humid tropical forest and enjoying both the view of the Peninsula and scenes of everyday life in the Dominican countryside. On the way, we make several stops to rest and take some pictures. On reaching the Salto itself, we can enjoy one of best waterfall bathing experiences ever. Then we head to a ranch to have a typical Dominican lunch. Before going back, we can buy local coffee and cacao at a very interesting price.
