In the afternoon, after lunch, we will travel to Barahona. During the journey, we will visit Bani, to learn about the impressive natural dunes and the salt mines, along the way will taste delicious ¨dulce de coco tierno¨, typical of the community of Paya.

In the morning we will visit the most important bird sanctuary in the region, Laguna de Oviedo. This day is dedicated to explore the nature and biosphere reserve of the island, which is home to hundreds of species of birds that come to nest, like pink Flamingoes, fragate birds among other species. La lagune alo have several cays, home of iguanas. The night is free, and the dinner is optional in the hotel restaurant.

This day is intended to discover the famous beach of ¨Bahia de las Aguilas¨ and the village of La Cueva. This beach, only accessible by boat, is considered the most beautiful in the country. Discover this fishermen paradise and lovers of white sand and crystal clear waters. We can observe around 130 bird species of which 76 live permanently in the Bay, 10 endemic and migratories 47 species.

After breakfast, we will visit the cloud forest of Cachote, nestled in the eastern part of the Sierra de Bahoruco, 1000 meters above the sea level. The forest shrine more than 45 species of endemic birds and plant species typical of the humid climate of the region. In the Ecological Center, we will learn to make a typical lunch of the region, and we will have lunch. In the afternoon, will cross the path of ¨Jibijoa¨, predominant Ants in this forest, which is characterized by their nests in the trees.

Hike the tropical forest full of tropical fruits like mangoes, avocados, coconuts and pineapple. In the culminating point of this hike, 300 meters above the sea level, we will follow a plain path for 2 hours that offers a panoramic views on the village ¨Paraiso¨. In this area you will find many cocoa plantations, where we will have the opportunity to taste the raw seeds. Then we will discover Villa Nizao people dedicated to coffee cultivation, cocoa, oranges and citrics. There we will have lunch. Finally we will walk in the Valley of this river until reaching the village of Paraiso where the River ends in a beautiful sandy beach.
